World Day Against Child Labour
Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara observed the World Day Against Child Labour on Thursday, 12th June 2025 reinforcing its commitment to child rights and social responsibility.
Centred around this year’s global theme — “Progress is clear, but there’s more to do: let’s speed up efforts!” — the event sought to raise awareness about the urgent need to eliminate child labour in all its forms. Students of class IX staged a poignant skit in the morning assembly titled ‘The Missing School Bag’, shedding light on the harsh realities faced by children denied education and pushed into the world of labour. Through compelling performances and a thought-provoking narrative, the skit highlighted the stark injustice faced by millions of children worldwide.
In a powerful speech, Sreeram of Std IX called for united efforts to protect childhood, emphasizing that every child deserves the right to learn, grow, and live free from exploitation. The event reinforced the school's commitment to promoting awareness and advocating for a just society where every child can enjoy a safe and nurturing environment.
