A warm welcome to everyone present here today. The past year has been a remarkable journey—a blend of challenges, opportunities, and accomplishments that have shaped us into a stronger and more vibrant institution. The academic year has been an exceptional one, offering us numerous opportunities to push boundaries, overcome challenges, and set new benchmarks. From outstanding academic achievements to groundbreaking success in co-curricular activities, and community outreach programmes, this year has truly been a testament to the collective spirit and commitment of our school community. It is both an honour and a privilege to stand before you today and present the Annual Report of our school for the academic year 2024-25 - a story of dreams realized, talents nurtured, and goals accomplished.
About the School
Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara is a beacon of growth and progress, continually setting higher benchmarks and pursuing them with unwavering determination and passion. Catering about 3300 students, the school has on its rolls 163 teaching and 54 non-teaching staff members and pursues a holistic approach of education in grooming the skills and talents of students. Our school is also an accredited centre of NIOS - National Institute of Open Schooling with a strength of 49 students from classes IX to XII.
New Vice Principals and Asst Vice Principal Take Over:
On June 1st of 2024, Smt. Bindu M.R. and Smt. Sumi U. Menon took charge as Vice Principals, and Smt. Devaki K. assumed the role of Assistant Vice Principal.
The School Library, proudly affiliated with the National Virtual Library of India, has an impressive collection of 17924 books, with new additions enriching its shelves each year.
The Resource Room, guided by the expertise of 5 specially trained teachers, serves as a valuable support system for nearly 100 students, providing personalized assistance to enhance their academic progress.
The school has 2 skilled counsellors who work tirelessly to address their needs.
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) at our school continues to thrive, with 50 enthusiastic cadets, 33 boys and 17 girls—actively participating. Their commitment to leadership, teamwork, and national service contributes significantly to fostering a disciplined and spirited atmosphere.
The Atal Tinkering Lab serves as a hub for experiential learning, inspiring young minds to develop problem-solving skills, a spirit of innovation, and a passion for creativity through hands-on activities.
The PTA Executive Committee for the year was formed with Smt. Rajitha R. Nair as the President. The committee remains proactive, collaborating constructively with the school to support its initiatives and growth.
School clubs offer a dynamic platform for students to discover, develop, and showcase their talents. The clubs for the academic year 2024-25 were inaugurated by the renowned playback singer and our proud alumna, Ms. Krithikha S.
Interact Club
The Installation Ceremony of the office bearers of the Interact Club and Harinee R Gireesh was nominated as the president of the club.
Seed Club
The Seed Club has expanded its garden by adding a new vegetable section, a dedicated herbal plant area, and a serene jasmine garden, enhancing both diversity and tranquility.
The School Parliament
The school senate officially assumed its responsibilities on June 15, 2024, embracing their role with accountability and dedication.
Academic Achievements
“Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort and intelligent execution”.
The outstanding performance of our students in the CBSE Board Examination brought laurels to the school. In Std X, out of the 206 students who appeared for SSE 2023-2024, 195 students secured distinction and 45 students secured A1 in all subjects. Devidyuti K Pisharody emerged the school topper with a perfect score of 500/500.
In Std XII, out of the 202 students who appeared for the SSCE 2023-2024, 186 secured distinction and 38 students secured A1 in all subjects. Niya Shine, the Science topper secured 97.8%, Tanirika Dipak topped the Commerce stream with 98.4% and Shikha Mohandas topped the Humanities stream with secured 97.6% .
School Achievements
Our school received the esteemed Haritha Vidyalayam Award, along with a cash prize of ?15,000. We also secured the first position in the Ernakulam Education District, in recognition of our outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability.
Our school lifted the First Runners-Up Trophy in the All Kerala Bhavan’s Fest Category V and secured the overall First Runners-Up Trophy in categories I to V. We also lifted the Runners-Up Trophy in Category IV.
We secured the First Runners-Up position in Magnum Opus conducted by Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, bagged the overall trophy for the LABYRINTH QUIZ held at Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya Kakkanad and won the Second Runners up trophy in the Gita Chanting Competition conducted by Bhavan’s Thrissur Kendra.
Our school won the Second Runners-Up Trophy in the Dr. K.M. Munshi Memorial All Kerala Athletic Meet held at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir Eroor. Maria Alphona Joseph of class X was declared the Individual Champion.
Our school successfully organised a Student Cultural Exchange Programme in collaboration with Bhavan's Bhagawandas Purohit Vidya Mandir, Nagpur. A team of 16 students and three teachers from each school visited the other, fostering cultural understanding and enriching experiences.
Achievements of Teachers
Ms. Saritha Vijayachandran, teacher - Department of Computer Science, won the prestigious Kulapathi Munshi Award for the Best Teacher for the year 2023. She also received a Certificate of Appreciation for being part of the expert panel for ATL Marathon 2023-24.
Ms. Reshma M R and Ms. Arya S secured the third prize in Abhiruchi 2024, Teachers' Conclave for their presentation on the topic Eco-Tech Harmony.
Ms. Athira M.S, Ms. Anamika M and Ms. Radha K won the SOF award for maximum contributions in NSO, IEO and ISSO respectively.
Ms. Suseela Gopinathan attended the Advance Guide course at Palode Military Camp, Thiruvananthapuram. She also participated in the National Yoga Championship 2024, held at Jharkand.
Mr. Lijo R successfully completed the Basic Course for Scout Masters at the State Training Centre, Palode.
Ms. Resmi V R, Ms. Chippy Praveen, Mr. Lijo R, and Mr. Rahul Babu attended the Guide Beginners Course at SRV HSS School.
Ms. Resmi V R and Ms. Chippy Praveen, represented our school at the Guide Captain & Flock Leader Residential Camp held at Panangad VHSS.
Student Achievements
The remarkable achievements of our students in various events filled us with immense pride.
Kumari Malavika Abishek Panikkar won the prestigious Bhavan’s Kulapati Munshi Award for the Best Student of the Year 2023.
Rishabh Vinod , Sunand P Menon and Kalyani R secured the first, second and third ranks respectively in the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan State Level Camp. Rishabh and Sunand have qualified for the Nationals.
Sreehari E.A won first prize in the Sugama Hindi Exam 2023-2024.
Niranjan Sekhar Anoop received a scholarship amount of ?6000 and the certificate of merit under Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana 2024-25 conducted by the Dept of Posts, Ministry of communications, Govt of India.
Ila Laxmi Sharma became the State Level Winner in the Young Innovators Programme 5.0 Category 1 conducted by the Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council. She also won the first prize in the ‘Poem for Peace Challenge’ conducted by Khushi Walia Army Public School
Krishna J Menon ,Lal Krishna S and Siddharth A Shenoy won the first prize in TECH-ED conducted by Chinmaya Vidyalaya Vaduthala.
Pranav K Manoj won the first prize in the Carnatic Music competition and Shivedha Prabhit got the second prize in Melam (Karaoke singing) conducted by Gems Modern Academy, Kochi.
Gayathri Arun secured the first prize in the painting competition in Anokha organised by Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
17 students and 2 teachers of our school have participated in the Thalir Innovative Fest National Level by Yi at Kumaragaru College of Liberal Arts and Science, Coimbatore.
Joan Joseph , A Nandana Nair and Priyadarshini Deepak won the first position for the surprise event (Arcadia) in Svapasya 2024 conducted by Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Eroor.
Harith Mohan won the PM Foundation Scholarship Exam and qualified for the next level to be conducted in Kozhikode.
Sarang LV was adjudged the Zonal Rank 3 in the SOF IGKO.
Aatish Gopal secured first position in Malayalam elocution conducted by Ramakrishna Math in connection with National Youth Day Celebration.
Pavithra S , Angeline Naibin and Sunandh P Menon and Sarang L V secured first prize in still modelling and Science quiz respectively in the competitions held at M A College Kothamangalam.
The following students won first prizes in various events conducted by Sahodaya Kochi: Akshara Shynod secured first place in Folk Dance, Aatish Gopal emerged first in Elocution (Malayalam), and Thejus Menon won first prize in Light Music (Boys). Nakshatra Vinod secured first place in Story Writing (Malayalam). Pranav K Manoj won first prizes in both Light Music and Mridangam. Malavika Abhishek Panikar bagged first prizes in both Bharatnatyam and Mohiniyattom. Adithya S Nair won first place in Recitation (Hindi), Vaishnavi S secured first place in Recitation (Sanskrit).
In the All Kerala CBSE Sahodaya Fest Pranav K Manoj and Akshara Shynod secured first prize in mridangam and folk dance respectively.
ACHIEVEMENTS IN QUIZ
The dynamic duo of Sarang L.V and Aman B. Manoj showcased exceptional teamwork and brilliance, winning several prestigious quiz competitions. Together, they secured the first position in the quiz conducted by Dawn Public School, earning a cash prize of ?5000 and certificates. The pair achieved a stellar victory in the Infinitum Quiz conducted by NIT Calicut, where they won the first position and a cash prize of ?25,000.
Sarang L.V and Sunandh P. Menon secured the first position in the SAPTHA 24 All Kerala Inter-School Science Quiz, receiving a cash prize of ?10,000.
Sarang L.V won the first position in the Top Teens State Level Competition conducted by Palakkad OISCA Chapter and Milma.
Aman B Manoj, Sarang L V & Harith Mohan won first position in the CBSE Heritage India Quiz 2024 conducted at Amrita Vidyalayam and have qualified for the finals to be held in Delhi.
Aman B. Manoj secured the second position in the Amber Valley Quiz conducted by Café Coffee Day at Chikmagalur, winning an iPad and a certificate.
Manvith Venugopal and Siddharth Shenoy won the first position ( senior category) in the quiz conducted by NIT Calicut.
Adwaith Subramani Anand and Dilan Dawn won the first position in the Inquizit Quiz conducted by Naipunnya Public School, receiving a cash prize of ?25,000.
Akshay Narayanan and Sunandh P Menon secured the first prize in Dr P A Nelson Memorial Quiz conducted by St Albert's College Ernakulam and received a cash prize of ? 10000.
Sreehari E.A won the first prize in the Environment Day Quiz conducted by The Hindu.
Karthik A. Bejoy and Sivendu Pai M.S were declared the winners in the Intach Heritage Quiz.
Kasinath Menon and Sunandh P Menon won the first position in the quiz conducted by ISRO.
Niranjan S. Anoop, Ishaan R. Menon and Keerthana Krishnamohan won the first prize in the PURANAVA Quiz conducted at Bhavan's Munshi Vidyashram.
In the ISKCON Puranic Quiz Finals, Rishabh Vinod and Sivendu Pai won the first prize.
Sunandh P Menon and Akshay Narayanan won First position in the Attomos Quiz conducted by Aquinas college.
In the All Kerala H&C District Level Quiz, a team of Dilan Dawn , Pranav Santhosh and Devarath Pillai ,Neeraj S secured the first prize.
Aman B Manoj and Raghav Nitin bagged second position in the MKK Nayar quiz conducted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra.
ACHIEVEMENTS IN MUN
Anirudh Surej Nair and Harisankar Madhu won the Determined Delegate Awards in representing Spain in the United Nations Security Council in the Harvard Model United Nations India held in Bangalore.
Harishankar Madhu and Nishant S won the best delegate award and
Anirudh Surej Nair received special mention in the IIMUN Kochi Conference.
ACHIEVEMENTS IN SPORTS AND GAMES
KATA CHAMPIONSHIP
In the Category of Kumite ,Aadya Anil and E Dikshita Prasanth secured the first position. In the category of Team Kata, both E Dikshita Prasanth and Swetha K secured first position.
FOOTBALL
We emerged winners of the 16th Chinmaya Soccer Inter-School Football Tournament and the Marellian Inter-School Football Tournament in the Under-19 and Under-17 boys' categories.
Our school won the First Runner Up Title in the Newsprint Soccer Tournament 2024, organized by the Bhavan’s Newsprint Vidyalaya.
In the Under 14 Boys, CBSE Cluster XI All Kerala Inter school Football tournament organised by Crescent Public School Aluva, we won the First Runner -Up title.
In the Under 19 Soccer Toc Inter School Football tournament our team bagged the second Runner up trophy.
Our Football team secured First Runner up in the under 13 category in the VISIO 24 Inter school Football tournament organised by Chavara Darsan CMI Public School.
We bagged the First Runner up in the Sanskara inter school Football tournament (Under 14) organised by Sanskara School, Kakkanad.
Our School secured first Runner Up(under 14 yrs boys)in the 24th RSC All Kerala CBSE Inter school soccer tournament organised by Regional Sports centre Kadavanthra.
Naeem K Ansam represented Kerala Blasters League in the Under 13 AIFF sub junior.
CHESS
Adwaith Praveen won the Best Player Award in the below 1800 rating category in the Dubai Police Global Chess Challenge organized by Dubai police and also won a cash prize worth 50k.
KARATE
Gayathri Arun won the second place in the 46th International Karate Championship and also won a bronze medal in kickboxing conducted by the Kick Boxing Association of Kerala . Punya Arun won first place in the 46th International Karate Championship.
BADMINTON
We bagged the overall championship in the 19th Archbishop Joseph Attippetty Memorial All Kerala Inter-School Shuttle Badminton Tournament held at Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School.
Nidhi B Nair emerged the Runner Up in the Under 11 Girls Singles Badminton Championship conducted by PNB Metlife.
ATHLETICS
In the CBSE National Athletics Championship, Naethan Varghese John secured fourth position in the Under-17 Boys High Jump. In the Kerala State Athletic Association's Championship , he won third place in the Under-16 Boys High Jump. At the District Athletics Championship 2024, held at M.A. College, he bagged first place in both the Under-16 High Jump and the Under-16, 60m Running Race.
Ummukulsu P.R, Maria Alphonsa, and Naethan Varghese participated in the CBSE Cluster XI Athletic Meet held at S N School, Poothotta and qualified for the Nationals .
In the Kerala Central Sports Athletics Meet 2024-25, our school secured third position. The following students won first prizes: Jiya Jith in Shot Put, Ridhit Krishna R in High Jump, Ummukulsu P.R in Long Jump, Kecia William in 100m, Aarav Vineeth , Deva Nandan Thampi , Muhammed Rayyan and Ridhit Krishna R in 4x100m Relay Under 14 Boys.
YOGA
Our school secured the First Prize in the Yogasana Competition organized by the Yoga Association Ernakulam.
In the Yogasana Competition organized by the Ernakulam District Yoga Sports Association, our school won the Ever Rolling Trophy. Keerthana Krishnamohan secured First place in the Sub Junior Girls category and Indrajeeth S. Kamath won First place in the Sub Junior Boys category.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMMES
In keeping with our school’s tradition of helping those in need, we organized multiple initiatives for Onam. In collaboration with the Mathruboomi Seed Club, our school hosted the ‘Snehadaram’ initiative to honour and appreciate our dedicated support staff. Additionally, Onam kits were distributed to both our support staff and the Palliative Care Unit at General Hospital Ernakulam. Our students also presented a cultural programme at the Palliative Care Unit in connection with the Chinganilavu Onam Celebration.
As part of the International Day of the Differently Abled, twenty-six students of our school visited the Mridulasparsham Special School, Irimpanam. Our students showcased a series of cultural performances making the event memorable.
In line with our ongoing ‘Dhaan Deepthi’ initiative, a few of our students visited 25 bedridden patients on December 20th, 2024, and distributed cakes and cards to bring festive cheer to their lives.
A ‘Padayathra’ drive was organized by the NCC Cadets of our school to raise awareness about the importance of clean and safe footpaths in and around Tripunithura. A total of 30 cadets participated in this awareness campaign
‘Sahapadi’, a School Social Responsibility Initiative was organized to support children from the local community by distributing school kits to foster their educational growth and well being.
DEVELOPING ONE’ S PROWESS

Smt. Mini K, Principal, attended the 15th All India Conference for Bhavan’s Principals of Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools, held at Bhavan’s Tripura Vidya Mandir, Agartala. The conference centered on the theme “Leaders Leading with Vision,” providing a platform for insightful discussions and visionary leadership strategies.
Smt Bindu M R and Smt Sumi U Menon, Vice Principals, Smt. Devaki K, Assistant Vice Principal along with a few teachers attended a workshop on Beyond Academics- A Teacher’s Guide to EQ.
Teachers actively participated in a variety of workshops organized by BVB Research Centre,Kochi Kendra and CBSE, aimed at enhancing their professional skills and teaching quality. The workshops focused on the latest educational methodologies, subject-specific knowledge, and innovative teaching strategies.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES FOR HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
The Annual Comprehensive Evaluation -Shikshan Bharati Evaluation of the school, in the scholastic and co-scholastic areas for the academic year 2024-25, was held on August 13th and 14th under the able guidance Smt. Sukumari Menon, Education Officer, Shikshan Bharati..
All significant occasions, such as Founder’s Day, Environment Day, Reading Day, International Yoga Day, Guru Purnima, Independence Day, Onam, Ramayana Week, World Blood Donor Day, Quit India Day, Nagasaki Day, Teachers’ Day, Navaratri, Children’s Day, Christmas, Sanskrit Day, Hindi Diwas, National Education Day, and Republic Day, were commemorated and celebrated with great enthusiasm and appropriate reverence.
To foster experiential learning and enhance practical skills along with real-life problem-solving abilities, Bagless Day was observed for the students of Classes I to VIII.
Our school celebrated “Shiksha Saptah” organised by The Ministry of Education, Government of India, and key activities included Jadui Pithara demonstrations, FLN activities, exhibitions, various performances, puppet-based pedagogy and so on.
Annual Medical check up for students was conducted in the school.
EduSports, a tool for nurturing mental, behavioral, and physical skills, initiated from classes 1 to 5 enables a holistic education by seamlessly blending sports and learning.
Our school proudly celebrated its 52nd Annual Sports Meet. The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Chief Guest Shri Tom Joseph, Arjuna Award winner and former Captain of the Indian Volleyball team.
Skill subjects like Design Thinking, Travel and Tourism, Financial Literacy were initiated to unleash the potential of students and to go beyond textbooks, fostering practical expertise for a future-ready education. The students were also given training in making candles, soaps and bags.
The students of class XI Humanities Stream visited The High Court of Kerala as part of academic activities.
A group of students from our school attended the Haritha Sabha at the Corporation Office, Ernakulam.
A team of 15 students visited Sriharikota to witness the launch of ESA’s PROBA-3 satellite by ISRO’s PSLV mk III rocket. At Sriharikota, they explored the space museum and witnessed the thrilling rocket launch, which successfully placed PROBA-3 into orbit, accompanied by a resounding sonic boom.
The Guides Camp was conducted from 4th to 6th October at Panangad VHSE.
A group of eight students participated in the three-day residential Annual Inter-School Vidyodaya Camp 2024, which was held from November 29 to December 1.
Students from Classes I - XII were taken for one-day educational trips to various locations, tailored to their age and curriculum.
EVENTS HOSTED BY OUR SCHOOL
The school organized VIDYA VANDIKA 2024, the annual award function, on 28 June 2024, to honor and felicitate the top performers for their remarkable achievements and meritorious performance in the SSCE and SSE 2023-2024.
The 30th edition of Pratheeksha unfolded with great success in our school. This year, Pratheeksha featured the Model United Nations Conference themed “Avatar: A Ray of Hope”. Justice Harisankar V Menon , High Court of Kerala was the Chief Guest for the event.
Our school celebrated Navaratri with immense devotion and enthusiasm over nine days.
Kanyarkali, a traditional ritual folk dance from Palakkad, was presented by Oruma Kanyarkali Sangham in the school auditorium. It was jointly organised by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kochi Kendra and Infosys Foundation.

NEW INITIATIVES
The Seed Club initiative ‘Used Pen Drop Box’ was inaugurated by Smt Mini K, Principal.
Our school proudly unveiled its new Open Gym Facility, a significant addition aimed at enhancing the well-being of both students and faculty. Shri Tinu Yohannan, former Indian Cricketer and our alumnus inaugurated the same.
A new subject Legal Studies was introduced for the students of class XI.
Our school has introduced a new initiative called Bulbul, launched in September for students of Classes 1 to 4 under the leadership of Smt. Chippy Praveen, the Flock Leader. Simultaneously, the Scouts programme was introduced for Class 5 students under the guidance of Mr. Lijo Rajan , with a total of 17 students.The Guides wing, which was launched last year, is operating actively.
BEOSA
BEOSA Thirike 2024 - the annual get together of Bhavan’s Elamakkara old students was organised in the school auditorium on 13 July 2024.
MOTIVATIONAL TALKS AND SESSIONS
To support the overall growth and development of our students, a range of health and wellness webinars, awareness sessions, and motivational talks were organized throughout the year.
Various seminars and awareness sessions on topics like ISRO- PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE, health and wellness, climate change, Career guidance, Evolve Robotics, World AIDS Day and Human Rights Day were also held in the school to broaden their knowledge, and develop essential skills beyond the regular curriculum.
Centre of Excellence for Aquatic Vaccine Development, Cochin University of Science and Technology, India and University of Veterinary Medicine, Hannover, Germany in association with Indo- German Science and Technology Centre organized a workshop on " Challenges and new opportunities in vaccine development for aquaculture” in our school. It was an interactive session with 12 scientists and students from various schools in the Ernakulam district.
A session on Conscious Parenting was arranged by the PTA for the parents of primary , secondary and senior secondary. The PTA organised cleaning drives for various classes throughout the academic year with the primary motto to instill a sense of cleanliness, hygiene, and community engagement among the participants.
An interactive session was arranged for the students of classes X and XII so as to boost their confidence and to help them prepare for the board examination stress free.
INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
Building constructions and renovations
The construction of two new blocks is currently underway as part of our campus development initiative.

Phase 1, which connects the Tagore and Sankara blocks, is on track for completion by May 2025.

Phase 2, linking the Tagore and Munshi blocks, is expected to be completed by August 2025.
The renovation of our school library has been a significant step towards enhancing the learning environment for our students. With improved infrastructure, updated resources, and a more welcoming space, the revamped library aims to foster a love for reading and support academic growth.
Air Conditioned Computer Labs for both the junior and senior sections were introduced to provide a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for our students.
